Teamflect’s Private Recognition feature allows users to send recognitions visible only to:

  • The recognition receiver

  • The receiver’s direct manager

  • The receiver’s skip-level manager

  • Teamflect administrators

This feature is ideal for recognizing sensitive achievements, confidential work, or discreet milestones without broadcasting them to the entire organization.

🛡️ Note: Private recognitions are not visible to peers or the broader company - only to the receiver and relevant stakeholders in their reporting chain.

Step 1: Access the Admin Center

Go to admin.teamflect.com and click “Recognitions” from "Modules".

Step 2: Enable Private Recognitions

Toggle the “Enable private recognitions” option.

Step 3: What Users See

Once enabled, users will see a checkbox labeled “Private recognition” when sending a new recognition.

Selecting this ensures that only the designated people will be able to view the recognition.

When to Use Private Recognition

  1. Confidential Project Work
When employees contribute to sensitive or high-level projects, private recognition helps managers and leaders express appreciation without disclosing confidential details.

  2. Corrective or Developmental Praise
Use private recognition to highlight personal growth or improvements that are best acknowledged discreetly—especially during performance improvement processes.

  3. Sensitive Interpersonal Support
Private recognitions can be sent when a team member helps another through a challenging situation (e.g., burnout, mental health support), where public recognition might be uncomfortable.
