Workarounds for Multi-Reviewer Scenarios in Teamflect Reviews

Teamflect offers ways to include multiple reviewers' insights without direct dual-reviewer support.

Written by Denzel

In complex reporting structures, having insights from more than one manager can be invaluable. While Teamflect does not currently support assigning two reviewers simultaneously to the same review, there are several effective ways to involve multiple managers in the process.

Method 1 - Invite Others for Comments

  1. In the Review Result Section of your review template, enable Invite others for comments.

  2. This allows additional participants to provide input in the results section.

  3. Invited managers cannot answer the review questions directly, but they can leave overall or private comments that enrich the review.

  4. Invitations can be sent by either the reviewer or an admin.

Method 2 - Changing the Reviewer Mid-Process

For scenarios where both managers need to answer the same review questions, another workaround is available.

  1. Initially, let the first reviewer complete their evaluation and submit it.

  2. Next, navigate to the Admin Center, locate the “review cycles,” and use the “see/update reviews” option.

  3. Here, you can change the current reviewer to the second manager.

  4. Remember to check the option “keep the current reviewer's answers” to ensure continuity.

  5. After adjusting the status to “waiting for reviewer,” the second manager can view and respond to the same questions in the comment boxes.

This approach effectively allows both managers to share their insights without initiating separate review cycles.

Method 3 - Leveraging 360-Degree Feedback

To incorporate feedback from secondary or indirect managers, consider enabling the 360-degree feedback feature in the review template.

  1. Make sure to activate the “Managers/Supervisors” section. This setup allows feedback requests to be directed towards the second manager either automatically at the start of the review cycle or on an ad-hoc basis by the reviewer, admin, or reviewee during the process.

  2. The admin has the option to pre-define feedback providers by uploading a document or to allow for more flexible feedback solicitation. You can explore how to set this up in our article.

Use Cases

  1. Matrix Organizations – Employees reporting to multiple managers can capture input from both without duplicating reviews.

  2. Cross-Functional Roles – In project-based environments, secondary managers can provide feedback on collaboration and project contributions.

  3. Succession Planning – Gaining perspectives from multiple leaders offers a more holistic view of high-potential employees.

Best Practice

Choose the method that matches your review goals:

  • Use Invite for Comments when you need lightweight input.

  • Use Reviewer Change when both managers must complete the same structured questions.

  • Use 360 Feedback when multiple managers’ perspectives are essential for fairness and development.
