Feedback request expiration timeline and customization options

Teamflect feedback requests are time‑bound so responses are collected promptly. By default, a feedback request expires after 4 weeks if the provider hasn’t responded by then.

Administrators can change this default expiration period to fit your organization’s needs, and — when allowed — end users may also set a custom expiration date when creating a feedback request.

Default Expiration Policy

  • Teamflect’s system default is 4 weeks (28 days).

  • Feedback providers receive an automated reminder 2 days before the request expires.

How Admins Can Modify the Expiration Period

Admins can update the expiration duration via the Teamflect Admin Center:

  1. Go to Modules in the left-hand navigation.

  2. Select the Feedback tab.

  3. Locate the option:
"Set default feedback request expiration time"

  4. Choose a duration between 1 and 8 weeks.

🔐 This global setting applies to all feedback requests unless user overrides are allowed.

Feedback providers receive an automated reminder 2 days before the request expires.

Allowing End-Users to Customize Expiration Dates

If the admin enables the setting
"Allow users to override the default feedback request due dates",
then users will see a custom expiration date field when creating a new request.

If this setting is disabled, users will not have the option to change the due date — the default duration will apply.

This is what it will look like when the setting is enabled:

HR-Focused Use Cases

1. Performance Review Prep
Set expiration windows to align with appraisal cycles or review timelines.

2. Quick Turnaround for Event-Based Feedback
Use shorter deadlines to capture timely feedback after presentations, trainings, or project milestones.

3. Long-Term Development Feedback
Allow extended feedback windows for mentorship or coaching scenarios where reflections may take more time.

Final Thoughts

While Teamflect’s 4-week default expiration ensures timely responses, administrators can tailor this setting to meet organizational needs. When enabled, custom due dates also give users more flexibility and control over their feedback workflows.
