With Teamflect’s automatic directory synchronization feature, your user data stays up to date effortlessly. When a user's details are updated in Microsoft Azure, Teamflect automatically reflects those changes without the need for manual syncing.
What Does This Feature Do?
Automatically updates user info (e.g., name, email, job title, department, location, employee hire date, birthday) when changed in Azure
Reduces manual admin work and ensures consistency between Microsoft 365 and Teamflect
Automatically removes departed employees from the Teamflect Active Users list.
Automatic synchronization updates user attributes, but it does not remove users who are merely disabled in Microsoft Entra ID (accountEnabled = false). Users are only removed after they have been deleted from Entra ID.
Understanding User Removal
When Microsoft Entra ID synchronization is enabled, Teamflect continuously syncs user information from your directory.
Here's how different user states are handled:
Microsoft Entra ID Status | Teamflect Behavior |
User profile updated | Changes are automatically synchronized. |
User account disabled ( | User remains in Teamflect and is not removed. |
User deleted from Microsoft Entra ID | User is automatically removed from the Active Users list after synchronization completes. |
How to Enable Automatic Directory Synchronization
Step 1: Go to the Admin Center
Log in to your Teamflect account and open the Admin Center:

Step 2: Navigate to “Active Users”
From the left-hand menu, click on “Users”, then select “Active Users.”
Step 3: Enable the Synchronization Toggle
Locate the User data sync sources section:
Under the Microsoft 365 section, toggle on "Automatically synchronize Microsoft 365 directory"
📌Note: From this section, you can also view how many user attributes are synced with Microsoft 365.
