Overview
The Organization Chart in Teamflect provides an interactive view of your company’s reporting structure directly within the My Organization (Intranet) page. With the org chart, employees can quickly explore manager relationships, view reporting lines, and locate colleagues across the organization.
The chart opens in an interactive, expandable view similar to the Goal Tree View in the Goals Module, making it easy to navigate through managers, peers, and direct reports.
This feature is automatically enabled for organizations on the Professional plan.
Accessing the Organization Chart
Employees can access the Organization Chart from the My Organization (Intranet) page.
To open the organization chart:
Navigate to Teamflect
Go to the My Organization (Intranet) page
Scroll to the Organization Chart card
Click Expand
This will open the interactive Organization Chart popup view.
Default Organization Chart View
When the organization chart opens, it automatically centers around your position in the organization.
The default view displays:
You
Your manager
Your peers
Your direct reports (expanded by default)
This layout allows employees to immediately understand their place in the reporting structure.
Navigating the Organization Chart
The Organization Chart uses an interactive tree view that allows you to explore different reporting structures.
You can:
Expand managers or employees to see additional reporting relationships
Collapse branches to simplify the view
Move across teams by expanding nodes in the chart
The interface works similarly to Teamflect’s Goal Tree view, allowing you to navigate the structure smoothly.
Finding Employees with Search
The Organization Chart also includes a search function to help you quickly locate employees.
To search for someone:
Open the Organization Chart popup
Use the search bar at the top of the view
Select a person from the results
Once selected, the chart will re-center around that individual and display:
The selected employee
Their manager
Their direct reports
This allows you to instantly understand where someone sits in the organizational structure.
Opening the Organization Chart from Other Areas
From the Intranet People Search
The chart will open centered on that user.
Organization Chart Permissions
If your organization has not granted the required User.Read.Basic.All permission, the Organization Chart will appear in a restricted permission state.
To learn more about API permissions, see this resource.
In this case:
The Organization Chart card will still appear on the intranet page
Users will see a permission notice when attempting to open the chart
An administrator will need to grant the required permissions for the chart to display full organizational data.
Admin Settings for the Organization Chart
Administrators can control the visibility and scope of the Organization Chart from the Intranet settings in the Admin Panel.
Enabling or Disabling the Organization Chart
To enable or disable the feature:
Go to Admin Settings
Open Intranet settings
Locate the Organization Chart toggle
Enable or disable the feature
When enabled, the Organization Chart card becomes visible to users on the Intranet page.
Viewing the Chart When "Teamflect Users Only" Is Selected
If the Teamflect Users Only option is enabled, users will see an informational message below the chart indicating: “Showing Teamflect users only.”
Use Cases
Use Case 1: Understanding Team Structures
Employees can use the Organization Chart to quickly understand how teams are structured within the organization. By viewing managers, peers, and direct reports in a single visual layout, users can gain clarity on reporting relationships and team hierarchies.
Use Case 2: Quickly Finding Where Someone Fits in the Organization
When employees need to understand a colleague’s role within the company, they can search for that person in the org chart and instantly view their manager and direct reports. This makes it easier to understand how different teams and individuals are connected.
Use Case 3: Navigating Across Departments
Managers and employees can explore the organization beyond their own teams by expanding different branches of the chart. This helps users discover how other departments are structured and identify key stakeholders across the organization.
