How to Silence Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Teamflect Notifications Outside Business Hours

Since Teamflect notifications are delivered through Microsoft Teams and Outlook, silencing Teams and Outlook notifications will also silence Teamflect notifications.

This article walks you through how to mute notifications outside business hours on both platforms.

Silencing Microsoft Teams Notifications Outside Business Hours

Set Quiet Hours / Quiet Days (Recommended)

  1. Open Microsoft Teams

  2. Click your profile picture (top right)

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Select Notifications

  5. Scroll to Quiet hours

  6. Set:

    • Start time (e.g., 18:00)

    • End time (e.g., 09:00)

  7. Optionally, configure Quiet days (e.g., weekends)

During quiet hours and days:

  • No Teams pop-ups or sounds

  • Teamflect notifications will also be muted

Please note that the Teams notification settings can only be adjusted through the mobile phone Teams Application. You may not be able to find these quiet hour settings through the Teams in your PC.

Silencing Outlook Notifications Outside Business Hours

Option 1: Schedule Quiet Hours (Windows Focus Assist)

For Windows users:

  1. Open Settings → General→ Notifications → Windows Focus Assist

  2. Choose Priority only or Alarms only

  3. Click Automatic rules

  4. Schedule quiet hours (e.g., evenings and weekends)

This silences:

  • Outlook email notifications

  • Calendar reminders

  • Teamflect email notifications

Option 2: Outlook In-App Notification Settings

  1. Open Outlook

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select Notifications

  4. Turn off:

    • Desktop alerts

    • Sound notifications

  5. Keep emails flowing without interruptions

Option 3: Email Rules for Teamflect Notifications (Optional)

If you want to manage Teamflect emails separately:

  1. In Outlook, go to Rules

  2. Create a rule for Teamflect sender emails

  3. Move them to a specific folder or mark as read

  4. Review them during business hours

Mobile Devices: Important Reminder

If you use Teams or Outlook on your phone:

  • Enable Quiet Hours inside the mobile apps

  • Or use your phone’s Do Not Disturb mode

This ensures Teamflect notifications don’t reach you outside work hours on mobile either.
