Setting clear start and end dates helps ensure goals are timely, achievable, and aligned with your team’s planning cycle. Teamflect’s custom date selection lets you choose specific timeframes for your goals instead of relying on preset options.

This gives you flexibility to match project timelines, quarterly milestones, or unique scheduling needs. In this guide, you’ll learn how to access the custom date picker during goal creation, select the right dates, and understand how these choices affect goal visibility and progress tracking.

With the Custom Date Selection setting, you can:

  • Enable Custom Period Selection: Activate this setting from the Admin Center, so users can filter and view goals by custom periods.

  • Customize Goal Periods: Rename and adjust goal periods (e.g., Q2 to "Spring Quarter") to better align with your organization’s structure.

  • See Custom Periods in Filters: Once enabled, users will see the customized periods and names in date filters across the Goals Module.

How to Enable and Use Custom Date Selection

Step 1: Enable the Setting

  • Go to Admin Center → Goals Module.

  • Locate the setting “Allow custom date selection for goal creation” and enable it.

Step 2: Customize Goal Periods

  • In the same section, adjust the timeframes of goal periods as needed.

  • Rename goal periods to reflect your organization's unique terminology.

Step 3: Use Custom Filters

Once enabled, users can:

  • View and filter goals based on these customized periods.

  • See your tailored names (e.g., “Spring Quarter”) instead of generic labels like Q1 or Q2.

Why This Feature Matters

  • Increased Flexibility: Align goal periods with your unique workflows and timelines.

  • Improved Usability: Enable users to organize and filter their goals more effectively.

  • Enhanced Customization: Provide a tailored experience that reflects your company’s terminology and needs.

Ensure the “Allow custom date selection for goal creation” setting is enabled.
This allows users to:
