Adding related tasks to a goal in Teamflect lets you connect daily work to broader objectives, ensuring clarity on what needs to be done to achieve specific goals. This feature helps you track progress, assign accountability, and maintain alignment between tasks and overall organizational priorities.

How to Add Related Tasks to a Goal in Teamflect

You have two options to relate a task to a goal

  1. While creating a task or updating an existing task

  2. While seeing goal details

Within the Tasks Module, while creating a new task or updating an existing task

When you are creating a new task, you will see a field at the bottom of the pop-up window called "Related goal"

When you click “Add”, you can filter goals by name, owner, or type to quickly find what you need. This makes it easier to locate the right goal without scrolling through the entire list.

Open the drop-down menu, select the goal that you want to add as a related goal, and hit "Create".

Within the Goals Module, on the Goal Card

When you click an existing goal, you will see a section to relate a task to a goal. You will have the option to select from existing tasks, to create a new task or to choose a task group:

Click "Add" and create a new task. When you do so, your new task will start appearing on the goal card.

You can see the goals that have been related to tasks in your Tasks module as a separate column:

Beneficial Use Cases:

  1. Enhanced Goal Tracking
By associating tasks with specific goals, you can monitor progress more effectively and ensure that all activities contribute to the desired outcomes.

  2. Improved Accountability
Assigning tasks to goals clarifies responsibilities, making it easier to identify who is accountable for each aspect of the goal.

  3. Streamlined Workflow
Integrating tasks with goals helps in organizing work, reducing redundancy, and ensuring that efforts are aligned with strategic objectives.

Best Practice

Use this feature when:

  • You want to clearly connect tasks to broader goals.

  • Managers and HR need visibility of progress at both task and goal levels.

  • You want to improve accountability and alignment.

Avoid using this feature when:

  • The task is unrelated to any formal organizational objective.

  • Temporary or ad-hoc tasks don’t impact measurable goals.
