How does the Goal Check-in functionality work in Teamflect?

Automate regular check-ins for active goals—Teamflect reminds users to update their progress via chat and email.

Written by Denzel

The Goal Check‑in feature helps keep your team’s goals up‑to‑date by automatically prompting regular progress updates. Once enabled by an administrator, Teamflect sends reminder cards at intervals you set through both Microsoft Teams chat and email.

These cards make it easy for goal owners to assess and update their progress without extra effort, boosting accountability and ensuring goals stay visible and relevant.

This guide explains how to activate and configure check‑ins and why they’re useful for things like 1‑on‑1 meetings, ongoing progress momentum, and performance reviews.

Activating Goal Check‑Ins

Step 1

To activate “Goal Check-in," click on the "Admin Center" button in the top right corner of Teamflect or head over to your Admin Center at https://admin.teamflect.com/.

Step 2

Find "Modules" on the left navigation bar and click the "Goals" tab.

Step 3

Click on the "Goal Update Reminders" button to set up your goal check-in features in Teamflect.

The pop-up will appear, and you can toggle on Send automated goal progress update reminders.

You can configure the frequency of goal progress reminders, set their start date, choose the reminder time, and adjust the time zone. Click "Save" to apply and confirm your changes.

Beneficial Use Cases for Goal Check-Ins

1. Improve 1‑on‑1 and Team Meetings

Regular check‑ins ensure goal progress is already updated before syncing with direct reports or teams, making conversations more focused and productive without last‑minute chasing of updates.

2. Boost Accountability and Maintain Momentum

Automated reminders gently nudge employees to update their goals on schedule. This consistent rhythm helps individuals stay engaged with their objectives and reduces the risk of stalled progress.

3. Make Performance Reviews More Insightful

As progress gets updated consistently over time, reviewers and managers can see a clearer history of self‑reported progress — making quarterly or annual reviews more accurate and less reliant on recalls.

4. Reinforce Goal Visibility Across the Organization

Frequent check‑ins keep goals visible in employees’ workflows (via Teams chat and email), helping ensure that work remains aligned with priorities and doesn’t get overlooked amid daily tasks.
