The Group Goals tab displays goals that are linked to Microsoft Teams groups, allowing users to view shared objectives and track their progress in real time.

While this feature can help improve visibility and collaboration across teams, some organizations may prefer a simpler goals interface that focuses only on individual, department, or company goals. In these cases, administrators can disable the Group Goals tab from the Admin Center.

This guide walks you through how to turn off the feature and streamline the Goals module experience for your users.

How to Disable the Group Goals Tab

  1. Log in to the Admin Center

  2. Navigate to Goals Module

    • From the left-hand menu, select Modules > Goals.

3. Deactivate Group Goals

  • Locate the option “Activate Group Goals (synchronized with Microsoft Teams channels).”

  • Toggle the switch off to disable the tab.

Once disabled, the Group Goals tab will no longer be visible in the Goals module, creating a more streamlined view for end-users.

HR-Focused Use Cases

1. Reducing Complexity for Employees

In organizations where group-level goals are not relevant, disabling the tab prevents confusion and helps employees focus on their own goals or company-wide objectives. This simplifies adoption for teams new to structured goal-setting.

2. Maintaining Confidentiality

Group goals can sometimes reveal sensitive project details across departments. HR can disable the feature to ensure goals remain visible only to the individuals or teams directly responsible, preserving confidentiality.

3. Aligning with Organizational Strategy

Not all companies use Microsoft Teams channels as their primary collaboration structure. By disabling Group Goals, HR ensures Teamflect’s Goals module reflects the organization’s actual workflow and avoids mismatched tracking structures.

Final Thoughts

Disabling the Group Goals tab gives administrators greater control over how goals are presented to employees. For organizations that prioritize simplicity, confidentiality, or different collaboration structures, this feature ensures Teamflect remains aligned with internal goal-setting practices.
