It’s important to ensure that reviews are accurate and fair before they’re finalized. However, we understand there may be situations where a completed review needs to be unfinalized or edited.
In these cases, you can log in to the Teamflect Admin Center and unfinalize the review you'd like to update.
Step 1
Find "Modules" on the left navigation bar and click the "Reviews" tab.
Step 2
Click "Review Cycles" at the top of the page.
Step 3
Find the relevant review cycle and click ''See/Update reviews.''
Step 4
Find the review whose status you'd like to edit and click the "pen" icon next to its status.
Step 5
Simply change the review’s status from "Finalized" to the desired status, then click "Confirm" to apply the changes.
You may also leave a note for the review participants if you wish to notify them of the change:
After clicking "Confirm", the review will be un-finalized and will be moved back to the status you've chosen in the review flow.
Effective Approaches for Unfinalizing Reviews in Teamflect
Allow a Flexible Edit Window
Keep the option for managers or admins to unfinalize reviews via the Admin Center, even after they’ve been marked “Finalized.” This enables quick corrections and ensures no important details are missed.
Simplify Status Management for Clarity
Follow the unfinalization workflow to update review statuses efficiently, maintaining control and visibility throughout the process.
Preserve Review Accuracy and Fairness
Reverting reviews to earlier stages allows for corrections, additional feedback, or calibration ensuring evaluations remain fair, accurate, and complete.
Beneficial Use Cases
1. Correcting Errors Before Final Feedback
If a reviewer or admin notices a mistake in the scoring, comments, or review details after a review has been finalized, unfinalizing allows them to correct the information. This ensures the final outcomes truly reflect the employee’s performance and prevents miscommunication or unfair assessments.
2. Incorporating Additional Feedback After Finalization
Sometimes new feedback or additional context becomes available after reviews are finalized. By unfinalizing the review, managers can reopen the review to include this input, ensuring that all relevant perspectives are considered before the review cycle is completed
3. Supporting Collaborative Review Adjustments
Unfinalizing is useful when multiple stakeholders (e.g., HR, calibration panel, direct manager) need to adjust the review together. It enables collaborative refinement of review results before they are re-finalized and shared with the reviewee, supporting alignment and fairness in the evaluation process.
