Admin Guide: How Can I Allow Reviewees to Appeal Their Review?

Learn how to enable review appeals in Teamflect and manage employee appeals as an admin.

Written by Sue

Review appeals allow employees to request a re-evaluation of a locked performance review.

As a Teamflect administrator, you can enable appeals in a review template, receive notifications when an appeal is submitted, and provide a written response through the reviewer's review.

How to Enable Review Appeals

Step 1: Open the Review Template

Open the review template you want to configure or create a new review template in the Teamflect Admin Center.

Step 2: Enable Review Appeals

The review appeal setting can be found in the Finalization Flow section of the template settings. Under Appeals, toggle on Allow Appeals to enable the feature.

This setting is disabled by default, so be sure to enable it for each template where you want reviewees to be able to submit appeals.

Step 3: Save Your Changes

Save the template configuration after enabling review appeals. Reviewees can submit an appeal once their review is locked.

HR Use Cases

1. Reviewing Disputed Performance Ratings

An employee disagrees with a performance rating and submits an appeal explaining which part of the evaluation should be reconsidered. HR administrators can review the concern and provide a written response.

2. Supporting Consistent Evaluation Processes

HR can use the appeal process to review concerns about how performance evaluations are applied across the organization.

3. Documenting Employee Concerns

When an employee questions part of their completed evaluation, the appeal provides a way to record the concern for the reviewer and Teamflect administrators.

Best Practice

Before enabling appeals, establish an internal process for reviewing concerns, deciding who will respond, and communicating outcomes.
