How to Add Hidden Talking Points in Teamflect

Easily add private talking points to your 1-on-1s in Teamflect by marking them as hidden.

Written by Myka

Preparing for a one-on-one meeting often involves taking notes, outlining discussion topics, or recording observations that you may not be ready to share with the other participant. Teamflect's Hidden Talking Points feature allows you to create private talking points that are visible only to you, making it easy to organize your thoughts before the meeting.

This is especially useful for drafting sensitive feedback, keeping personal reminders, or preparing questions while maintaining confidentiality until you're ready to discuss them.

How to Add a Hidden Talking Point

Step 1: Add a Talking Point

While setting up or editing your 1-on-1 meeting, type in your talking point under the Talking Points section.

Step 2: Click “Hide”

Next to the talking point, click the “Hide” button. This marks the item as private.

  • It will not be visible to the other participant

  • It will not appear in the meeting invite

  • It will remain visible only to you throughout the meeting flow

⚠️ Important Note on Timing

Teamflect syncs meeting content in near real-time, so if you:

  • Add a talking point and then click “Hide”
→ It may be briefly visible to the other party for a split second

To avoid this:

  • Always mark the point as hidden while creating the meeting, not after the meeting is saved

HR-Focused Use Cases

1. Manager Preparation for Sensitive Feedback

Managers can prep coaching topics or performance issues without disclosing them prematurely.

2. HR/People Partner Notes

HR professionals joining 1-on-1s can keep private context without creating separate agendas.

3. Difficult Conversations

Helps users reflect and structure delicate issues they may want to raise, only when appropriate.

Final Thoughts

The Hidden Talking Points feature supports more thoughtful, deliberate communication by giving users a way to prepare privately. It’s especially valuable for managers, HR, or any employee navigating sensitive discussions.

Just remember to mark the talking point as hidden before the meeting is sent or synced, to ensure full confidentiality.
