Updating goals in Teamflect allows you to keep progress accurate and visible as work moves forward. Depending on how a goal is measured, you can update it manually, mark it as complete, or let progress roll up automatically from tasks or subgoals—so goals always reflect real progress without extra effort.
1. Edit Goals Directly in the Goals Module
Navigate to the Goals Module.
Select the goal you want to update.
Click the pen icon, make the necessary changes (e.g., title, deadline, progress), and save your updates.
2. Update Progress
The goals will be updated through their measurement type.
Measurement types vary and you can update the goals based on different measurement types:
Reach: Ideal for measurable progress goals like increasing revenue or hitting numerical targets.
Stay Above: Best for goals where you need to stay above a certain threshold.
Stay Below: Use this when the goal is to stay under a specific limit.
Completed / Not Completed (0/1): Perfect for binary goals—either done or not.
Roll-up from Subgoal Progress: Best for broader goals broken into measurable subgoals.
Roll-up from Task Progress: Ideal when goal completion depends on finishing specific tasks.
3. Reach – Percentage / Number / Currency
Enter the current value toward your target (e.g., 30 %, 500 units, or $1,200). Progress is automatically calculated based on initial vs target values
4. Stay Above / Stay Below
Ideal for thresholds like “customer satisfaction ≥ 75 %” or “response time ≤ 24 h.” Input the current metric and see at-a-glance if you're staying within range.
5. Marking Goals as Complete or Incomplete
To mark a goal as completed or not completed, open the goal, select the appropriate status, and confirm the change.
6. Rolling the goals from subgoal progress
If you have goals that are progressed through some other goals, you need to update the related goal's progress so that the progress of the parent goal will be changed:
7. Rolling the goals from task progress
If you have goals that are progressed through some tasks you are working on, you need to update the related goal's task's progress so that the progress of the goal will be changed:
Note: Administrators have multiple options for updating goals, including Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, and External API. These integrations provide flexibility depending on your organization’s needs. All of these options are accessible in the Admin Center, specifically within the integration sections of the Goals page, ensuring administrators can manage and update goals seamlessly from one central location.
Beneficial Use Cases
Track Sales Performance
Update monthly revenue toward your target to stay on top of sales goals.Monitor Customer Satisfaction
Log survey results to ensure satisfaction scores remain above your set threshold.Manage Project Milestones
Use task-based tracking to auto-update progress as project steps are completed.
Best Practice
Use goal updates when:
Progress needs to reflect ongoing work or measurable outcomes.
Goals are part of performance reviews or organizational tracking.
Progress should roll up automatically from tasks or subgoals.
Avoid manual updates when:
The goal uses task-based or subgoal roll-up tracking.
The item is a short-term task better managed outside the Goals module.
