Succession planning helps organizations prepare for future role transitions by identifying and developing potential successors for key positions. In Teamflect, employees may be invited to participate in this process by suggesting successors for their own roles and, depending on organizational settings, viewing succession plans related to them.

Note: Teamflect Administrators control whether managers can invite employees to provide successor suggestions and whether employees can view succession plans. If these settings are disabled, you may not receive requests for input or have access to succession plan details.

How to Suggest Successors When Invited

If your manager would like your input during the succession planning process, they can send you a successor suggestion request. Once you receive the request, you can access it in one of two ways:

Option 1: Through the Notification

When your manager sends a request, you will receive a notification in Teamflect. Click the notification to open the succession plan and begin providing your suggestions.

Option 2: Through Your Profile

You can also access pending suggestion requests from your profile page:

  1. Click your profile picture in the upper-right corner and select My Profile.

  2. Navigate to the Succession Plans section, locate the relevant plan, and click Suggest Successors.

Review the Role Summary

After opening the succession plan, you will first see a summary of your role. Review the information provided to understand the responsibilities and expectations associated with the position.

Once you have reviewed the role summary, click Next to continue.

Selecting Successors

After reviewing the role information, you can suggest potential successors for the role.

Teamflect will suggest employees who may be suitable successor candidates based on available employee data. You can review these suggestions, or use the search bar to find and add additional employees manually if you would like to consider other candidates.

After selecting one or more employees as potential successors, click Next to proceed to the evaluation step.

Evaluating Successors

In this step, you can evaluate the employees you have selected as potential successors.

For each candidate, you can:

  • Select their readiness level

  • Rate their competencies

  • Add optional notes or comments

After completing your evaluation, click Submit Your Suggestions. The employees you selected and assessed will be added as potential successors for your role, and your manager will review your recommendations as part of the succession planning process.

Viewing the Finalized Succession Plan

If your organization’s settings allow it, you will be notified once the succession plan has been finalized.

You can access the finalized plan in one of the following ways:

  • By clicking the notification you receive when the plan is completed

  • By navigating to My Profile and opening the relevant Succession Plan from there

The finalized plan will display the final list of potential successors and the outcomes of the succession planning process.

  4. Improving Talent Visibility
