Teamflect now offers a powerful customization feature that allows you to adjust goal status labels and define progress ranges to fit your organization’s needs. This enhancement provides greater consistency, clarity, and flexibility, making goal management more structured and effective across teams.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make the most of this feature:

1. Visit the Admin Center

Access the admin center at https://admin.teamflect.com and navigate to the Goals module.

2. Find "Manage Goal Statuses"

Locate the option "Goal statuses" within the Goals module.

3. Enable the Feature

Before diving into customization, ensure you enable this feature. Simply toggle the switch to activate it.

4. Customize Goal Status Wordings

Click on the boxes corresponding to the default goal statuses:

  • No status

  • On track

  • At risk

  • Off track

Rename these statuses to better align with your workflow. For example, you might prefer "Not started," "In progress," "Not relevant," etc.

5. Set Automated Status Change Ranges

After renaming, proceed to specify the range for automated status changes.

The initial status when a goal is created and assigned can be defined.

For subsequent changes, define a value. If the goal's progress is above or within the specified values, the status will be automatically updated.

Goal Status Wordings

  • Not started

  • In progress

  • Pending review

  • Behind schedule

Automated Status Change Ranges

  • Initial: Not started

  • In progress: Above 40%

  • Pending review: Between 21% and 39%

  • Behind schedule: Below 20%

Note: This function will not affect your existing goal statuses unless the goal progress is updated again, and users can override goal statuses even though the automatic goal status update method is automated.

Feel free to tailor these examples to your specific needs. We believe that customizing goal statuses and ranges will significantly enhance your ability to track and manage goals effectively.

Beneficial Use Cases:

  1. Standardizing Performance Status Labels
Renaming default goal statuses (like "On track" or "Off track") to align with company-specific language (such as "In progress," "Pending review," or "Behind schedule") or clearer, more intuitive performance tracking.

  2. Automating Status Changes for Objective Monitoring
By setting progress-based thresholds (e.g., “In progress” above 40%, “Pending review” between 21–39%, “Behind schedule” below 20%), you can ensure goal statuses update automatically, reducing manual oversight and enhancing accuracy.

  3. Maintaining Flexibility While Ensuring Oversight
The automatic status update feature helps streamline monitoring, yet still allows users to override statuses manually, ensuring both structured consistency and responsiveness to real-time context.
